The work order lifecycle

Plan Workspace

A work order moves through statuses: Received, Classified, Scoped, Quoted, Awarded, Scheduled, In Progress, Complete (plus Cancelled and On Hold).

Every status change is recorded in the history with who made it and when. Three things can constrain a transition:

  1. Transition rules your admin sets (blocked moves, note required, minimum role)
  2. Document gates: mandatory evidence that must be attached before entering a status
  3. Verified identity: completing work requires an email-verified seat

The status changer on the work order shows only legal moves and explains anything blocked. Numbers are per customer: a work order bound to a customer takes that customer's own sequence (like ACME-0012) rather than a global count.
